New Construction in Toronto: E Condos

We love our construction updates, even if it appears that there isn’t too much going on. This may look like an empty space to you, but to us it looks like progress! We’ve completed phase one of demolition and we’re ready to tackle the next steps in creating our Yonge and Eglinton development, E Condos. Continue reading

E Condos Progress at Yonge and Eglinton

If you haven’t been to our new corner in a few months, expect some big changes next time you head to Yonge and Eglinton. Our demolition is complete and the corner that was once a low-rise plaza is now our home, and we’re just getting started!

We currently are at the boring stage of the project, and no, we’re not referring to the least exciting stage. The boring machine is digging down and removing the perimeter basement walls of the demolished buildings. This stage of work is a slow process, and we’ve worked hard to develop engineered procedures that will ensure that we do not to affect the structural integrity of the adjacent buildings.

Although it’s a slow process, we’re progressing every day and this stage looks to be moving ahead on schedule as of now. If all goes to plan, we look to complete this work at within the next couple of weeks. photo 04

We know you’ve heard the buzz about the demolition happening at Yonge and Eglinton, but now you can see exactly what’s going on! Our amazing construction staff has been working hard to clean up one of Toronto’s most iconic corners and transform it into what will soon be the finished product of E Condos.

With such great weather, the crew has been able to demolish the grounds into a nice, flat surface and keep the whole area nearly spotless. As you can see in the photo above, there’s nearly no excess dirt on the sidewalks in front of our site.

With demolition continuing to progress on schedule, the process is slated to be complete by the end of July. Once this process is complete, the crew will start digging the hole and beginning the process of creating the parking garage.

Bazis, Metropia and Riocan’s Highly Anticipated E Condos is Underway

E Condominiums, one of Toronto’s most talked about condo buildings, is about to remake the face of Yonge and Eglinton, changing the way that local residents, office workers and pedestrians will view this lively midtown neighbourhood.

With demolition of the existing buildings having just begun on this chic new condo project – a collaboration by three award-winning developers Bazis, Metropia and RioCan – area residents have their first glimpse of a new future for this iconic corner.

“With the start of construction we couldn’t be more excited for both the team and for our buyers,” says Veronika Belovich, Director of Sales and Marketing for Bazis. “E Condos is truly one of Toronto’s most distinctive new condo towers.”

Standing at 58 and 36 storeys, these residential towers will rise above Yonge and Eglinton, with units offering remarkable views of the city skyline and a public piazza at ground level bringing superb at-grade retail to this favoured midtown corner. TD Bank will occupy the ground floor of E Condos, with its brand new, state-of-the-art branch.

Designed by the award-winning architect Rosario Varacalli, and featuring the elegant and contemporary styling of designer Mike Niven of Mike Niven Interior Design, E Condos blends modern luxury with timeless elegance.

Suites at E Condos offer a sense of spaciousness thanks to the airy 9-foot ceiling heights and light-filled windows.  Contemporary kitchens boast custom-designed cabinetry in a range of materials and colours, Euro-style appliances, quartz countertops and ultra-fashionable backsplashes.

Purchasers can choose from one bedroom, one-bedroom-with-den, two bedroom and two-bedroom-plus-den plans, some with terraces, from 514 to 1,240 square feet, and priced from the mid $300,000s.

A dynamic amenity program occupies the 4th and 31st floors, and includes gourmet kitchens and dining rooms, party lounges, technology lounges, exquisite outdoor terraces with barbecues, dining area, sunbathing beds, bar and lounge areas. The state-of-the-art fitness area includes weights, cardio, yoga and boxing studios.

Among E’s most amazing features, the 31st floor boasts a swimming pool, sauna, change rooms, bar and seating area cantilevered over the street below, and distinguished within a red glass frame which juts out from the building’s façade, providing unsurpassed views of the city below.

“Now is the time to become part of one of Toronto’s most popular neighbourhoods,” says Veronika Belovich.  “Residents will be in the midst of a flourishing locale filled with bustling cafes and restaurants, chic retail shops and modern movie theatres – and will be able to access many of these amenities without having to go outdoors, thanks to the condominium’s planned underground connections.”

And while the area just outside its front doors offers a mix of the city’s best shopping, dining and entertainment options, E’s direct access to both the TTC’s Yonge subway line and the planned Eglinton Crosstown LRT puts everything the city has to offer – from the lake to the 905, and from Mississauga to Scarborough – within easy reach.

To learn more about E Condos and the lifestyle that only Yonge and Eglinton offers, visit the Presentation Office at 2300 Yonge St. in the office lobby. It’s open Monday to Thursday from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Call 416-243-8688, or visit www.econdos.ca.
