1 Yorkville: June Construction Update

There’s so much to love about the Toronto skyline. When it comes to the skyline around one of the most luxurious areas of the cities, we’re excited to bring a new addition to it soon. 1 Yorkville is our project that’s being built at the corner of Yonge Street and Yorkville Avenue. This 58-storey condo is going to feature residences and some stunning amenities in an area of Toronto that is rich with history. Continue reading

Construction Continues at E Condos

We like to catch up with our team at E Condos at least once a month to check-in on the great progress! This project is near and dear to our hearts as it’s part of an important transformation in the city of one of the most populated neighbourhoods in Toronto. Yonge and Eglinton is in the midst of major changes and we’re proud to be a part of it.

The progress at E Condos is coming along nicely and we’re so excited to tell you about what’s going on! The shoring for the south tower will be complete in the next few weeks and once we’re done shoring, we’ll be moving on to bulk excavation. Get ready Yonge and Eg, we’re going to be digging! We’re also in the process of installing the hoarding at Yonge and Eglinton to protect our neighbours from construction.

The process of building a high-rise tower to stand the test of time is a lengthy one, and we want to make sure that E Condos is created to meet the highest standards. Each process is met with diligence by our amazing construction team and this will guarantee quality across the board at E Condos. Continue reading

How It’s Done: Framing

Last month, we published our first blog post in our new series: How It’s Done. We think it’s important that you fully understand just what goes into building a condo, especially if you’re someone who’s moving into one in the next little while, or someone who simply just wants to learn about it. Our first blog post in the series was about shoring, where we explained the process of supporting the underground walls of a building with props, or shores. This week, we take a look framing.  Continue reading

Saying Goodbye to 2014 at E Condos

What can we say? 2014 has been an awesome year for us at E Condos. With so much happening at Yonge and Eglinton and our project making its way into demolition and construction, we can easily say that 2014 has been our best year yet! We wanted to check in with the E Condos team for one last time this year and see what’s going on at the site. Read on for the details. Continue reading

Update at the Eglinton Crosstown LRT

It’s been a while since we updated you with the progress of Eglinton’s newest transit route, the Eglinton LRT, and we just want to tell you that a lot has happened since our last look at it. You may have heard rumblings about the traffic backups in the area, especially during rush hour,  but as they say, “no pain, no gain.” Continue reading

Coolest Amenities Ever

Screen-Shot-2014-02-26-at-3.05.47-PM

We love cool condo amenities quite a bit. We’ve made that very clear with our big plans for 1 Yorkville. Our newest Yorkville building will have a 14,000-square-foot expanse devoted to a spa, open-air pool and hot tub – which we’re confident our residents will love. Then there’s the wellness centre which has water massage tables, a sauna, steam room and an indoor-outdoor relaxation space. And that’s not all, we have an outdoor screening facility and a CrossFit studio, amongst other neat amenities.

But enough about us, let’s check out other cool building amenities from around the world: Continue reading

E Condos Progress at Yonge and Eglinton

If you haven’t been to our new corner in a few months, expect some big changes next time you head to Yonge and Eglinton. Our demolition is complete and the corner that was once a low-rise plaza is now our home, and we’re just getting started!

We currently are at the boring stage of the project, and no, we’re not referring to the least exciting stage. The boring machine is digging down and removing the perimeter basement walls of the demolished buildings. This stage of work is a slow process, and we’ve worked hard to develop engineered procedures that will ensure that we do not to affect the structural integrity of the adjacent buildings.

Although it’s a slow process, we’re progressing every day and this stage looks to be moving ahead on schedule as of now. If all goes to plan, we look to complete this work at within the next couple of weeks. photo 04
