12 Days of Christmas Giveaways!

Advent calender 2014-14

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me, a Partridge in a Pear Tree.

Ahh, Christmas is so close! Do Christmas carols just pop into your mind automatically with the first snow fall? Do you have visions of sugar plums dancing in your head as soon as December comes around? Since we have two developments in Yorkville, Exhibit and 1 Yorkville, we really get into the holiday spirit thanks to the beautiful holiday windows and festive cheer displayed everywhere in the community. Walk by The Bay or Holt Renfrew and you can’t help but get excited for Christmas shopping!

Well, we got so excited we did do a little shopping – 12 days of gifts worth, to be exact! That’s right – our popular 12 Days of #BazisXmas Giveaways is back and it starts on December 4th, 2014! Continue reading

Architecture Trends: Ice, Ice, Baby

With the cold weather on our minds (can you believe we’ve already been graced with the first snowfall of the season?), it’s only appropriate for us to share our favourite ice buildings on the blog. We’ve found a few that we wouldn’t mind checking out, as long as we have our down-filled jackets and boots ready!

Without further ado: Continue reading

First Thursdays at the AGO

We love that some of our favourite attractions in Toronto are turning it up a notch and repurposing their space into something more. We’ve raved about Friday Night Live at the ROM, where the Museum turns into a major party after hours (yes, you can party with the dinosaurs) and now we’re here to tell you about First Thursdays at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO).

On the first Thursday of each month, the AGO brings in live music, food and drink, and opens their doors to every art-lover in the city. It’s a night to have fun and truly release your inner artist. There’s discussions about art and various pop-up talks throughout the evening. And of course, there’s an opportunity to show everyone what you got – with art-making activities with local artists. The Santa Claus Parade Through The Years

This weekend marks the official beginning of the holiday season, and that’s because of the 110th Annual Toronto Santa Claus Parade! We love the holiday season – the festive cheer everywhere, the holiday windows at Holt’s, the peppermint in everything from lotions to our drinks, and everything that comes along with the most wonderful time of the year.

This year’s Santa Claus Parade is on Sunday, November 16th and Santa is expected to arrive at 12:30 PM. The parade will then start from Christie Pits, head down Bloor, go past The ROM, turn onto Avenue, past the Eaton Centre, swing left onto Wellington and end at the St. Lawrence Market.

But for now, let’s go on a walk down memory lane and take a look at Toronto Santa Claus Parades over the years: Continue reading

Super-cool Public Spaces From Around the World: Aquatic Centres

Our love for public spaces shouldn’t come as a surprise to you, we’ve talked about them quite a bit on the blog and on our Twitter. We’re constantly sharing with you new and innovative public spaces, as well as how important it is for the community to have good public spaces open to anyone and every one.

Something that always seems to become community hubs are aquatic centres. With free swim times and lessons for the kids, it’s just natural that people flock to these spaces. Here are a few aquatic centres that have caught our eye over the last little while, let us know if we missed any really cool ones in the comments below. Continue reading

What’s Hot at Yonge and Sheppard

We’ve written post after post about Bloor-Yorkville, home to two of our developments, Exhibit and 1 Yorkville. We’ve talked about the hottest spots at Yonge and Eglinton, where our E Condos development is going up. But we haven’t shared with you any of our favourite places at Yonge and Sheppard in a long time! Emerald Park residents, here’s what you can look forward to (besides the Metro and LCBO coming to the building): Continue reading
