2016 has been a busy year for the entire BAZIS team with a number of projects taking shape. We kicked off the year with the finishing touches on Emerald Park, our iconic green glass towers located at Yonge and Sheppard. This striking and luminous architectural concept, dramatically punctuates the monochromatic skyline of North York.
The start of the New Year also came with a majestic, perpetually unobstructed view of downtown Toronto and the ROM from the rooftop of Exhibit. Seeing the completion of this unique residential towers’ skeleton was amazing. Great progress continued to be made on the exterior throughout the spring and summer with the addition of balcony siding, and the installation of windows and balcony railings. Interior suite finishes were in progress and finishing touches were being put on the lobby and amenities. The remainder of the year has seen the near completion of Exhibit with only the penthouse unit remaining. Occupancy has already begun and will continue into 2017.
While the groundhog was looking for a shadow in February, we were busy breaking ground on yet another new development, 1 Yorkville at its outstanding enviable location on the corner of Yorkville Avenue and Yonge Street. 1 Yorkville will be home to a beautiful tower featuring 58 floors of luxury residences and amenities. The progress over the past year has been incredible. Tie backs and excavation continued throughout the remainder of the year and only a handful of units at this platinum location remain.
Finally, the year also saw an amazing amount of development at the E Condos that continues to reshape the look of the iconic Yonge and Eglinton area. The structure of the South Tower really came together with construction of the second and third floors and imminent commencement of suite floors. The North Tower also began taking shape with tiebacks and the formation of the ground floor throughout the course of the year.
2016 has been an exciting year and the excitement will continue to grow in the New Year ahead.
