One of the best things about living in Yorkville is all the events right at your doorstep – World Pride, exotic car shows and now Summerlicious! We love Summerlicious because it’s a fabulous way to try new and old restaurants in your neighbourhood! Where better to wine and dine than at some of Toronto’s best restaurants in one of Toronto’s hottest neighbourhoods?
Here are our top three picks in Yorkville, but since Summerlicious starts tomorrow you might want to hurry and make your reservations!
Just under two years old, Café Boulud in the Four Seasons Hotel has become a Toronto favourite. This is Chef Daniel Boulud’s third restaurant of the same name, with one in New York and another in Palm Beach. The menu is inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud’s French roots with touches of international flavours. The Summerlicious dinner ($45) menu includes offerings like the Charantaise Melon Salad, Cumbrae Beef Brisket, and Peach Sundaes.
Think about it – some of Hollywood’s biggest A-listers have eaten at this Yorkville gem, which means the food MUST be good. The little yellow Victorian houses have become a Yorkville icon, and have been a part of the Yorkville neighbourhood since its famous hippie era. But enough about the history – let’s talk about the food! Sassafraz offers delicious French-inspired Canadian cuisine and you can try their Gazpacho, Cornish Hen, or Pina Colada Panna Cotta as part of their lunch($25) or dinner ($45) Summerlicious menus.
We’re big fans of Mark McEwan and his ONE Restaurant at the Hazelton Hotel, actually we love all his restaurants in Toronto and his gourmet food shop. ONE Restaurant was once described as being Toronto’s only five-star restaurant, and though that title have changed since then, their food and service certainly hasn’t. Their Summerlicious lunch ($25) and dinner ($45) menus include Corn and Crab Chowder, Fried Chicken and Chocolate Cheesecake. ONE Restaurant also has vegetarian options.
Other Yorkville restaurants participating in Summerlicious include: a la Carte at the Gardiner, Annona Restaurant, Blu Ristorante, Ciao Wine Bar, Creme Brasserie, Il Posto, L’unita, La Société, Living Room, Matisse Restaurant and Bar, Mideastro Yorkville, Mistura, MoRoCo Chocolat, Museum Tavern, Pangaea, The Host Fine Indian Cuisine, Toni Bulloni, Vaticano, and Wish.
There ya go! Most restaurants are still taking reservations but they are going fast so make your reservations ASAP.
Happy dining!
