It’s an area of Toronto that has a rich history. In the 1960s it was notably a big part of the Toronto bohemian cultural scene. Since then it’s established itself as one of the most luxurious areas of the city and a hot spot for celebrities when they’re visiting the city. The area features world class shopping and dining, but also feels like a small village within a city. We’re so excited to have two projects coming to the area – Exhibit and 1 Yorkville. With so much around them, residents won’t need to go far to spend a perfect day right within their own neighbourhood.
A perfect day in Yorkville looks a little something like this:
Time to caffeinate
First thing’s first, a good cup of coffee is necessary. Luckily great coffee isn’t far away when you’re in Yorkville. If you’re not feeling Starbucks, there’s a Balzac’s nestled into the Reference Library. In the summer head to the Club Monaco pop-up market to enjoy some coffee from Sam James, eats from Evolution Food Co. and pick up some flowers for your home from Sweet Woodruff.
Fit in a workout
After your coffee, it’s time to get that blood flowing at a workout! Equinox has opened up a location right in Yorkville, which is perfect for all your fitness needs. Take a look inside the facility over here.
Afternoon at the museum
One of the best things about Yorkville is the choice available with so many great places located nearby. When it comes to museums, there are two in particular that stand out. There’s the ROM right across from our Exhibit project and they always have an exciting new exhibition to check out. If you have a passion for fashion and shoes, there’s also the Bata Shoe Museum!
Squeeze in some shopping
If you get tired of the museum and need a change of scenery, there’s always some shopping to be done. With so many amazing shops nearby, it’s hard to avoid popping in to check out what’s in store. From Anthropologie to Over the Rainbow, there’s a lot of great brands and local favourites around.
Dinner
Right on the corner of Yorkville and Bellair, you’ll want to grab dinner at Trattoria Nervosa. This relaxed Italian restaurant in the yellow house has a great selection of food to fuel you after your busy day around Yorkville. With everything from salad to pizza, you’ll have no regrets no matter what you choose.
Drinks on the roof
When you’re meeting your friends for drinks in Yorkville, there’s one spot that rises about the rest – literally. Meet them at the Park Hyatt Roof Lounge for stunning views and great beverages. You can’t really go wrong here.
