Toronto is an amazing city to be in over the holidays with lots of different opportunities to celebrate the season. We’ve got the Santa Claus parade in November to get us started, the many holiday markets to ease us into the season, and tons of New Year’s Eve parties to end the year in style! But as a neighbourhood on its own, Yonge and Eglinton has lots to offer in terms of holiday celebrations as well. If you’re looking to enjoy the holiday season in the area, we have some festive suggestions!
Get a hot chocolate at Sweet Jesus

This newer addition to the Yonge and Eg area is quickly becoming a favourite. While they become best known for their epic frozen treats in the summer, they’re quickly becoming everyone’s favourite hot chocolate dispensary, especially if you’re looking for insane amounts of chocolate. You can enjoy a classic hot cocoa, a butter pecan version, or their ‘Death by Chocolate’ option – steamed chocolate milk, chocolate and cookie crumble rim, dark chocolate whipped cream, with a chocolate shaving sprinkling on top!
Meet for Drinks at Bar Batavia

This fun Yonge and Eg spot is a great place to meet up with friends during the holidays. Surely your holiday calendar is already filling up with social engagements, and the planning has begun. Definitely add Bar Batavia to your holiday itinerary if you’re looking for delicious late night cocktails and snacks!
Grab a Bite

Yonge and Eglinton is bursting with options for wining and dining! With a huge selection of cuisines and price points in the neighbourhood, your only problem will be having to make the decision of where to go! If you’re looking to grab a bite over the holidays we recommend checking out La Carnita for Mexican, Grazie for Italian, or Noorden for their take on new Dutch cuisine.

If you’re hoping to add a twinkling and festive photo to your feed, then stopping by the St. Clements – Yonge Parkette is a must! You may have missed the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the festive vibes!
Treat Yourself to a Holiday Manicure

Primping and pampering yourself is necessary over the holidays, given how many social and festive events you have to attend! Take a time out and treat yourself (and maybe a friend) to a holiday manicure to get your nails ready for the holidays too!
