One thing that we love is a little greenery. When things are getting a bit grey and monochromatic in the winter, it’s great to fill your space with some plants to freshen things up. We’ve rounded up some recommendations on our favourite plants to keep at home and some things to keep in mind for helping them thrive!

Plant Recommendations
There are so many varieties out there it can be tricky to decide which plants to bring home. Here are some of our favourites:
- Peperomia. If you’re forgetful when it comes to watering, this is the plant for you. It doesn’t mind dry soil and it’s flexible when it comes to lighting conditions. It’s a great tabletop plant option.
- Bird’s nest fern. This fern doesn’t look like your average fern and it’s not too temperamental. It’s a great indoor plant because, while it likes moist soil, it will be okay if the soil dries out from time to time.
- Fiddle leaf fig. If you want your home to look like something out of an interior design magazine, this is a staple. However, be warned that it can be tricky to get the watering of it just right.
- Succulents. You really can’t go wrong with a succulent. They look great and are so easy to take care of. If you’re feeling crafty, you could DIY your own terrarium for your coffee table.

Misting is Important
Did you know that you should be misting your plants? It can help with taking care of your plants for the long term. For succulents, it can be all they need to survive. For other plants, it’s really helpful to mist them and get rid of dust that may be sitting on their leaves. When there’s too much dust on their, it may keep your plants from growing very fast since it limits the amount of sunlight and water that they’re getting.

Get Creative
When it comes to finding a pot for your plants, do a little research first. Some plants require more drainage than other and you’ll need enough space to properly accommodate the roots. But once you’ve got that down, don’t be afraid to think outside the box when it comes to interesting pots for your plants. Consider things like using a basket or vintage pail to tie it in with your decor or keep your eye out for some unique shapes, colours, and decorative hanging pots.
