Winterlicious is here, and we’re so excited to be dining out in all the neighbourhoods we’ve started to call home in the last year. We just explored Yonge & Eglinton, and now we’re ready to dive into all that’s good just a short drive from Emerald Park. If you’re in North Toronto and looking to try something new, take a few of our suggestions below:
1. Paese Restaurant
Paese is an institution in Toronto, and because their downtown location recently closed up shop, their North Toronto outpost is the place to go for authentic handmade pasta, seafood and grilled meats. Just north of the 401 at Wilson Heights, Paese is offering both a lunch and dinner menu with a comprehensive selection of Italian classics with a twist. To see their entire menu, head this way!
2. Diwan at Aga Khan Museum
Sure, this one’s a little out of the way, but if you haven’t been to the Aga Khan yet, this is an amazing excuse. The architecture of Toronto’s newest museum is absolutely stunning, and it’s definitely worth the trip. While you’re there, stop by Diwan, the on-site restaurant, with decor inspired by an early 19th-century Syrian home. The restaurant explored flavours and aromatics from Africa, India and the Middle East, and has a stunning view of the museum’s formal garden and fountain. Make a reservation here.
3. Katsura
This beautiful and authentic Japanese restaurant is located in the Westin Prince hotel. Their Winterlicious menu focuses on stunningly simple seafood and perfectly grilled meat. If you want to expand your experience, try the sushi bar or teppanyaki table. See the entire menu here.
4. Casa Manila
If you’ve never explored Filipino cuisine, now’s your chance! Casa Manila specializes in fusion cuisine, bridging Filipino with Spanish, Mexican, Chinese and Polynesian flavours for a one-of-a-kind menu in Toronto. Their Winterlicious menu is a great sampling of this style, with many choices of flavours, heat and protein for a lunch or dinner that covers a wide spectrum of flavours. To book, head this way!
