Any day in Yorkville is the perfect day, right? Well, we sure think so anyway! We sat down with Bazis architect Rosario Varacalli to find out a little bit more about his perfect day in Yorkville, home to his projects Exhibit and 1 Yorkville .

We were excited to find out where Rosario spent his day, where he got his daily cup(s) of coffee, where he goes for a fancy dinner and anything else he likes to indulge in the area and what we got was his unapologetic and unbiased love for everything Yorkville.

We found out that his perfect day includes a good cup of joe from Balzac’s on Yonge or the Yorkville Espresso Bar. Taking a stroll around Bloor is a favourite pastime of Rosario’s, and it’s definitely a great alternative to being stuck in a gym for a couple of hours! Rosario would rather spend his time going for a walk or a bike ride and perusing the Yorkville shops. He told us he likes to shop everywhere in Yorkville and we couldn’t make him pick just a few, but he did tell us that he has shopped everywhere from Prada and Chanel, to Over The Rainbow.  Rosario prefers to do his grocery shopping at Whole Foods – which according to him, has a good coffee shop inside! Where to go for dinner? Rosario told us that he’s eaten everywhere from ONE to Trattoria Nervosa and they’re all good!

Rosario stressed that it is the “small village nature” of Yorkville that stands out most to him, and how it all is very European with everything in close proximity to home. And home it was for several years, but even now Rosario is in the neighbourhood quite often for work and loves that he’s leaving his mark in Toronto’s popular neighbourhood with Bazis projects 1 Yorkville, Exhibit and even the little laneway connection from Bloor Street into Yorkville.
