4 Plants We Love For Condo-Living

March 19th, 2015

Green-thumbs rejoice! Just because you live in a condo doesn’t mean you have to give up your plants and gardening. In fact, there is so much you can do to satisfy your hobby – from vertical gardening to container gardens. Or you can just decorate your home with really cool plants. The possibilities are endless, but here are some plants we love for condo living – we’ll go back to container gardening when the weather gets warmer.

Money Plants

Not only is it supposed to bring you wealth and good luck, it also has air-purifying capabilities – it removes toxins like formaldehyde from the air. We won’t get into the science behind it all, but it could even help with allergies or those annoying headaches that you can’t seem to figure out why you get.

The aloe plant is beautiful, small and good for your beauty regiment. You need to make sure that you let it get plenty of sunshine and not too much water, but other than that, it’s a pretty low maintenance plant.

Another super low-maintenance plant, cacti will liven up your room regardless of the size and where you put it. The best part about cacti is that you don’t have to water them regularly, you can actually go 4-5 weeks without watering them because of their natural water reserves. We recommend placing your cacti on a window-sill or near a window.

Areca Palm

This plant will definitely make you feel like summer is right around the corner anytime of the year. It’s from the palm family, and is perfect for the indoors. It can grow to be a very, very big plant but if you use a smaller pot, you can contain the size.

There’s so many other plants you can have in your condo, so be sure to ask your local nursery to point you in the right direction.
