Celebrating the Holidays Around Yonge and Eg

Toronto is an amazing city to be in over the holidays with lots of different opportunities to celebrate the season. We’ve got the Santa Claus parade in November to get us started, the many holiday markets to ease us into the season, and tons of New Year’s Eve parties to end the year in style! But as a neighbourhood on its own, Yonge and Eglinton has lots to offer in terms of holiday celebrations as well. If you’re looking to enjoy the holiday season in the area, we have some festive suggestions!  Continue reading

Yonge & Eglinton Through The Years

There’s something about the summer that just makes you feel nostalgic. Perhaps it’s all the fresh, warm air, or maybe the fact that our minds relax enough this time of year to take an extra moment to think back on what was. We’re feeling a little nostalgic this week about one of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city – Yonge and Eglinton. We don’t have an attic with old photos and artifacts of this beloved area, but luckily the Toronto Archives provide plenty of pics to peruse from way back when.

If you know the area well, you’ll surely spot some changes. And if Yonge and Eg is new to you, we’re happy to help in your journey to getting to know the neighbourhood.

E Condos: June Construction Update

It’s been a while since we last checked in on the progress at E Condos! The last time that we checked in with our site at Yonge and Eglinton was back in not-so-snowy December. Before that, you may recall the video of the raft pour for the crane. We’re excited that a lot has changed since then.

South Tower

Things are really coming together! You can see the the south tower has really come along since the last update. In December, we were just hitting ground level or “above grade” and working on vertical walls, columns, and slabs. We’re currently forming the Ground Floor Mezzanine and you can see how that’s shaping up in the photo below!

North Tower

Over in the north tower, we were working on the tiebacks the last time that we checked in on the project. Since then, we’ve moved on to working on the parking. The formwork is progressing at the P1 parking level at the north tower and we’re eager to keep on building. Things are looking great over on the site.

Now that the snow has melted, and your parka has been packed away until next winter, the opportunities to get outside and explore have arisen. Why not make a healthy living pledge this Spring – there’s really no excuse not to. Especially if you live in the Yonge and Eglinton area. With plenty of juice bars, healthy eats, and places to get active, your new healthy life is just a few steps away.

E Condos Progress at Yonge and Eglinton

If you haven’t been to our new corner in a few months, expect some big changes next time you head to Yonge and Eglinton. Our demolition is complete and the corner that was once a low-rise plaza is now our home, and we’re just getting started!

We currently are at the boring stage of the project, and no, we’re not referring to the least exciting stage. The boring machine is digging down and removing the perimeter basement walls of the demolished buildings. This stage of work is a slow process, and we’ve worked hard to develop engineered procedures that will ensure that we do not to affect the structural integrity of the adjacent buildings.

Although it’s a slow process, we’re progressing every day and this stage looks to be moving ahead on schedule as of now. If all goes to plan, we look to complete this work at within the next couple of weeks. photo 04
