Update at the Eglinton Crosstown LRT

November 21st, 2014

It’s been a while since we updated you with the progress of Eglinton’s newest transit route, the Eglinton LRT, and we just want to tell you that a lot has happened since our last look at it. You may have heard rumblings about the traffic backups in the area, especially during rush hour,  but as they say, “no pain, no gain.”

Last we heard from Metrolinx, the tunnel boring machines arrived at Brentcliffe launch site and have begun their journey westward to dig the 19km of underground tunneling toward Yonge Street. They’re also looking to begin work on Bathurst station, beginning with the headwalls which is the underground portion of construction.

Metrolinx posted a few photos of the tunnel boring machines and their progress.

By the time E Condos is complete, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT will be well underway and maybe even functional. If all goes to plan, both E Condos and the LRT will debut around the same time and all of our new residents will become regulars on the route.

Do you want to learn more about the Eglinton Crosstown LRT? You can keep up with all of the information on their blog and Facebook page. And if you want to live near it, check out E Condos website for a list of the available suites.
