    The Thai street-style food at Jatujak is authentic and delicious. This hidden gem is highly-rated and it just may become your go-to spot!
  5. Mexitaco
    This mellow bar offers tacos, burritos and other Mexican street fare, plus a seasonal patio. The friendly vibe, great atmosphere and delicious cuisine will have you coming back again and again.
  6. Frog and the Crown Restaurant and Bar

  1. Eglinton Square Shopping Centre
    With nearly 100 different shops and restaurants, Eglinton Square is a convenient and accessible hub. From department stores and clothing stores to beauty, books and stationery, electronics and media, financial services, health and wellness, home décor, and professional offices, Eglinton Square probably has what you’re looking for.
  2. The Golden Mile Plaza
    Named after the Golden Mile – the stretch of Eglinton Avenue characterized by its busy strip malls and parking lots full of shoppers, and so named in the 1950s – this plaza has the popular Joe Fresh, a hair salon, a gym, and more. The Golden Mile Shopping Centre is currently undergoing an extensive and exciting revitalization, as part of the vibrant new mixed-use community that is now evolving there. A total of 11 new buildings are proposed in the master plan, bringing together prime retail and commercial space, high and midrise residential, and inviting public spaces.
  3. SmartCentres Scarborough
    This mall, located at Eglinton Avenue East and Warden Avenue, has a Winners, a SoftMoc, a Mark’s, an LCBO and many more conveniences. It also includes banks, nail salons, restaurants, a Starbucks, and a Walmart Supercentre.
  4. Eglinton Corners
    For those who love to shop, Eglinton Corners is the place to go. This shopping centre has a Sport Chek, a designer shoe warehouse, clothing shops and more.
  5. CF Shops at Don Mills
    The Shops at Don Mills is a refined outdoor shopping centre that features luxury retailers such as Anthropologie, Aritzia, Frank and Oak, and Michael Kors. It’s an enjoyable spot to do some shopping or to pick up lunch at one of its premium restaurants, like JOEY or the Bier Markt.

  1. O’Connor Public Elementary School
    This public elementary school – the home school for future residents of Bartley Towns – has just over 200 students and an excellent scope of school-wide leadership activities, a student council, full-day childcare, before and after school programs, and recreational programs.
  2. Gordon A Brown Public Middle School
    This public middle school – which is also the home school for Bartley Towns – covers grades 6 through 8 and is affectionately known as GAB. It’s a dynamic and excellent school where students, teachers, parents and administration work together to help students reach high levels of achievement. Your kids will love this school because it has its very own swimming pool!
  3. Victoria Park Collegiate Institute
    This public high school – for Bartley Towns students in grades 9 through 12 – is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood and is truly a community school. Its supportive and dynamic staff provides students with a wide range of academic and co-curricular opportunities. The school also offers a diverse range of programs in mathematics, science and technology, the arts, languages, the humanities, social sciences and business education.
  4. Victoria Village Children’s Services (Muppets Preschool Centre)
    This renowned child care centre is well-known and beloved in the neighbourhood, and provides childcare for children from 18 months to 12 years of age.   1. Eglinton Square Branch
    Located just south of Eglinton off of Victoria Park Avenue, the Eglinton Square Branch of the Toronto Public Library is convenient and accessible. This branch features a book discussion group, free parking, quiet study rooms, equipment for people with disabilities, internet workstations, and books in several different languages.
  2. Victoria Village Branch
    As another option located close to Bartley Towns, the Victoria Village Branch of the Toronto Public Library is also available. This branch has a large auditorium for lectures and also periodically features various programs.

Community Centres

  1. Broadlands Community Centre
    This friendly local community centre offers programs for preschoolers, children, adults, and older adults alike, including summer camps, swimming, skating, and more.
  2. Working Women Community Centre
    The Working Women Community Centre is a women-focused settlement agency that provides support to newcomers in Toronto. Whether you need support or would like to volunteer, it’s a great way to get involved in the community.
  3. O’Connor Community Centre
    With a large swimming pool, a gym, fitness classes, summer camps and more, the O’Connor Community Centre is a great place to visit to be active and to socialize with local community members.
  4. Victoria Village Recreation Centre and Arena
    Victoria Village Recreation Centre and Arena is located in the Victoria Village community south of the Eglinton and Bermondsey intersection. On-site and satellite programs are provided for all ages from preschool to older adults in the areas of arts, sports, social clubs, creative playtime and leadership. The centre’s indoor rink makes it a popular venue for hockey and skating.

  1. Cineplex Odeon Eglinton Town Centre Cinemas
    Everyone’s favourite movie theatre, Cineplex Odeon, is close to home at the Eglinton Town Centre. This modern multiplex cinema chain screens the latest Hollywood films, plus new independent releases.

    If you want to see a 3D film on the big screen, the IMAX at the Ontario Science Centre is an amazing option close to Bartley Towns. The selection of films playing always includes options that are both educational and awe-inspiring.

    The Aga Khan Museum is a museum of Islamic art, Iranian art and Muslim culture. It presents and collects art from historically significant Muslim civilizations as well as contemporary Muslim communities and diasporas around the world. The museum has a permanent collection as well as various special exhibitions.
  2. The Ontario Science Centre
    This is a favourite for kids of all ages and adults of all ages, too! With all kinds of interesting exhibits, science demos, shows and more, the Science Centre is a great place to learn about science in a fun, hands-on and interactive way.
  3. Scarborough Museum
    This local history museum is an amazing place to learn more about Scarborough, from its founding and early settlement to its growth and emergence as a major suburb in the 20th century. Scarborough Museum offers visitors an opportunity to connect to the past through youth programming, camps, school trips, exhibits and special events.
  4. Birchmount Fire Hall Museum
    Just a short drive from Bartley Towns, the Birchmount Fire Hall Museum offers a wonderland of fun for kids interested in firefighting. Originally Scarborough’s first fire station, Birchmount Fire Hall is now a museum featuring different varieties of fire trucks from various periods of history including an early fire apparatus. Since the firehouse was shared with Toronto Police, there’s an old jail cell which dates from the early 1920s and was used through the ’80s.

    Located in Eglinton Square, Metro is a convenient go-to grocery store that has a bakery, fresh to-go food and prepared dishes, a fish counter, a full-service floral counter, sushi and more.

    This incredible grocery store was named after a Greek god for a reason! Adonis is fully stocked with an amazing variety of culinary delicacies. The store focuses on Middle Eastern, Lebanese and Mediterranean inspiration, so you can enjoy a rich culinary experience that will make your taste buds drool.
  4. No Frills
    For a more “no frills” experience (literally), No Frills is also close to home. No Frills offers affordable basics and is always accessible and convenient.

    The local LCBO near Bartley Towns is located in the SmartCentre, and it’s a great store with friendly staff and a large selection of items.
