For the past few months, we’ve been working with the city on further developing the design of E Condos and we have some brand new renderings to share that will give you a more precise picture of what the building will bring to Yonge and Eglinton.

E Condos focuses heavily on the public realm and the two towers connect to a large open public plaza at the street level with wide open sidewalks that encourage walkability along the intersection of Yonge and Eglinton.

Something we’ve noticed in Toronto, is the the lack of greenery at many major intersections in the city. So our aim with E Condos, is to add more greenery to Yonge and Eglinton by lining the streets with more trees and by adding a green roof to the entrance of the TTC subway.

At the end of the day, our ultimate goal is to connect E Condos to the city with its direct access to transit, adjoining public plaza and cantilevered podium. And don’t forget, we still have our cantilevered infinity pools too!

  1. Well done, I love the public realm improvements.

Delightful to see the application of ‘building on tip toes’ to increase the Public Realm offering. Likewise the introduction of ‘vertical gardens’ to enrich the natural green environment experience in this built up context. Let’s hope this project can inspire more architects to focus their attention on the ‘first three children’ – namely the three principal levels: at grade, immediately above grade and below grade. Then hopefully ‘good design’ make break forth upon Yonge Eglinton. We need it! Bravo Roy!

Very insightful comment Terry and we couldn’t agree with you more.

We really believe that buildings should be a part of the neighbourhoods they are in by being incoporated with public spaces. That’s why with E Condos as you’ve observed, we’ve “increased the public realm offering” at the three grade levels.
