E Condos is now ready for construction!

April 9th, 2014

The wait is over. Construction is about to begin at E Condos and Yonge and Eglinton is about to undergo a major transformation.

E Condos
We have received all our municipal approvals and building permit to commence construction this year. Demolition of all buildings, except TD Bank, has now started and will continue until early July. Following that, we will begin shoring and excavation. By early October, TD Bank will relocate their branch to 2453 Yonge Street (3 blocks North) and we will finish the demolition by November 2014, followed by construction of  E Condos.

It’s been a while since we last talked about E Condos so here’s a refresher on one of the neighbourhood’s most anticipated developments.

Designed by Rosario Varacalli, E Condos which we’re working on with Metropia and Riocan, will be 58 and 38-storey towers on the northeast corner of Yonge Street and Eglinton.

The development will be connected to the Yonge subway and the future Eglinton Crosstown LRT as well as RioCan’s Yonge Eglinton Centre, which is currently undergoing a $100 million modernization. We’re also making public space a large priority at E Condos and the two towers will be connected to a large open public plaza at the street level and the sidewalks will be widened to encourage walkability along the intersection of Yonge and Eglinton.

We also plan on adding more greenery to Yonge and Eglinton by lining the streets with more trees and by adding a green roof to the entrance of the TTC subway.

At the end of the day, our ultimate goal is to connect E Condos to the city with its direct access to transit, adjoining public plaza and cantilevered podium. And of course, the most outstanding feature will be the infinity pool!
