Get The Look: Mid-Century Modern

June 2nd, 2015

One of the most important things to consider when decorating a condo is continuity. Condos are, more often than not, very open – living, dining and kitchen areas generally share the same space. This is when it becomes important that decor is cohesive, as small inconsistencies will stick out like a sore thumb. Cohesion also helps enlarge a space, instead of chopping it into pockets of different colours and patterns.

That’s why we love this condo redesign from New York. Plush fabrics and textures punch up a classic, dark neutral colour palette. The mid-century modern furniture is just Mad Men enough without being campy, and touches like a Fiddle Leaf Fig tree and clean circular hanging mirror bring everything into 2015. A neutral palette helps incorporate lots of seating, a marble coffee table and an abundance of mixed metallics, without looking heavy. Our favourite part? The gold credenza that doubles as a bar cart. We’re never leaving.
