Halloween In A Condo

October 12th, 2017

No matter where you live or your age, Halloween is one of those holidays that brings out the kid in all of us.  Whether you plan to trick-or-treat with little ones or enjoying a more adult-themed party at home, we’ve got some great tips to help you out with your Halloween haunts.

Condo Decorating

When it comes to decorating your condo for Halloween, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.  If space is limited, considering moving your decor onto the balcony.  Just make sure your decor is in line with your condo policy, as some condos restrict whats allowed on them.  Cobwebs & creepy figures ominously poised on your balcony or in window bays, add an extra creep factor to everyday exteriors.  Get others in your building involved as well for a balcony decorating challenge.

Pumpkin Painting Party

Halloween parties are always a good time, especially when you can go all out! Pour some drinks, make some snacks, and forgo the messy scooping and carving of Jack-O-Lanterns. Host a Pumpkin Painting party! Use any colour of paint you want for just about any type of Halloween theme.  Have plastic spiders, sparkles, lace ribbon and other items on hand, to dress-up your creations with some finishing touches.  Fun for both kids and adults!

Trick-or-Treating with Children

Before you get ready for trick-or-treating on the 31st, remember that many condos do not allow it, usually opting to have the concierge hand out candy instead.  If you’re a parent, consider finding a group of other parents and kids to join you or keep an eye on your community bulletin boards to see if your building is hosting any special events on the night.

Horror Movie Night

Love scary movies? A Halloween Horrorfest is an excellent way to gather with friends on this, the spookiest of nights.  Watch some of your old favourites or branch out with cult classics for a whole new and terrifying experience. Check out Cinemassacre’s Monster Madness if you’re looking for some suggestions. Did we happen to mention that 1 Yorkville has a rooftop movie theatre?
