Screen Shot 2016-01-06 at 5.14.31 PMThe Toronto Design Offsite Festival is coming up very soon! This festival was created by designers and is helping to make design more accessible for the people of Toronto. As fans of great design, we’re so excited for it. The festival takes places across Toronto and you’ll find exhibitions set up in storefronts, immersive gallery installations, lectures, workshops, and more! This year, it runs from January 18-24 and there’s something in it for every design aficionado.

Here are some things to look for:

Interior Design Show

Jan 21 – Jan 24
TODO-IDS
The Interior Design Show is in its 18th year and it’s a great barometer to see what’s going on in the industry and shows what to expect in the year to come. If you love interior design as much as we do and want to get a step ahead of the trends, go explore and get inspired at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (North Building).

Come Up To My Room

Jan 21 – Jan 24
TODO-ComeUpToMyRoom
This annual exhibition at the historic Gladstone Hotel is now in its 13th year. Step inside and wander through three floors worth of installations by both established and new artists. It’s basically a one-stop shop for seeing a range of what the festival has to offer and worth the trip out to the Gladstone.

Nuvango Studio Tour

Jan 20
TODO - Nuvango Studio tour
Nuvango Gallery & Goods makes all of their goods right here in Toronto and for one day they’ll take you on a studio tour and show you how it all comes together. If you’re interested in seeing the ins and outs of their production, talking art and fashion, or love graphic and pattern design then sign yourself up for a tour. If you can’t make it for the studio tour then be sure to swing by their gallery before January 23 to check out their #CarnovskyXNuvango exhibit.

Do Design

Jan 21 – Jan 24
TODO-DoDesign
Do Design is a street-wide event in the Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood that happens every year during Toronto Design Week. Swing by the neighbourhood to see installations and the work of various designs ranging from furniture to architectural and graphic design work. Bonus: On January 24 they’ll have a walking tour led by a designer to take you through all of the highlights.
