4 Chalets That Make Us Want To Escape To The Cold

January 14th, 2015

We know it’s cold outside – really, really, cold. And we know that when thinking of vacation spots, going to a cold destination is the last thing on your mind, but hear us out. When you have a warm, cozy fireplace burning every night and some of the best views ever, then you probably wouldn’t mind the cold so much, right? In fact, you probably never have to even leave your chalet if that was the case!

Here are some of the world’s most luxurious and beautiful chalets.

The Firefly Ski Chalet in Zermatt, Switzerland

We feel any description or information we give you will not do this beautiful chalet any justice. It’s just beautiful, in a beautiful car-free area in Zermatt, surrounded by beautiful views of beautiful mountains. Have we mentioned it’s beautiful? There are floor-to-ceiling windows so you can truly capture the views, amazing furnishings and features that will make you never want to leave: cinema room, wellness centre, outdoor hot tub and more. Book a stay here and you’ll also get a fully high-trained staff ready to cater to your every need.

Chalet Brickell in The Rhone-Alpes, France

Chalet Brickell is a 12,900 square foot luxury chalet located in Megéve, southeastern France. The chalet (and accompanying guest house) sleeps 18 guests in seven bedrooms and is roughly about 35,000 CAD to 190,000 CAD to book.  After you finish picking up your jaw off the ground, just think of how much fun you’d have in this luxury chalet fully equipped with an indoor pool area, a night club, and a massage room. Each room is decorated differently, but we totally want the room with the giant stuffed polar bears.

Chalet N in Oberlech, Austria

The Chalet N is only open from the end of November to the end of April so you can only really enjoy it when it’s really cold out, but it’s worth it. Your frozen toes and red noses are worth a week (maybe more) at this lovely luxurious chalet in Austria – home of the Sound of Music! They boast that the view indoors is equally as fascinating as the view outdoors and we believe it. There are seven suites, each featuring one bedroom and living area, as well as a dressing room. Like other luxurious chalets, you can have your own personal butler and chef at the Chalet N, as well. Oh, and there’s a spa that’s already calling your name!

Bighorn, Revelstoke, Canada

We can’t write a post about chalets without mentioning Canada’s very own Bighorn at Revelstoke Mountain (check out the feature image)! There are eight spacious guest suites, a world class spa (perfect after a day of skiing!), and a huge outdoor hot tub. The main room, also known as the Great Room, is triple the height of regular rooms and has a log fireplace, obviously. The lodge manager will create a custom itinerary for you to save you the hassle of planning anything, and let’s not forget about the private chef who will make you anything you want. Oh and if you’re going for the skiing, then you’ll be happy to know that there’s private heliskiing from the house helipad – yes, a helipad. No wonder Bighorn is considered the finest private accommodation in North America!

Now, where’s our passport?
