Last week we released some renderings of the rooftop amenities at 1 Yorkville. We boasted (albeit, with good reason!) that 1 Yorkville will offer one of the best views of the city from its rooftop. Just imagine seeing all of Toronto’s greatest landmarks from on top of Yorkville! We can’t wait, and so we started to research some of the best city views in other great international cities.
Look what we found:
Paris, France

This list wouldn’t be complete without paying homage to Paris’ amazing city skyline. Like most old European cities, the view of this city from just about anywhere is great. The Eiffel Tower can be spotted from many residences and hotels in the area, and even from further away.
If you have the chance to go up the Eiffel Tower, then your view of the city becomes that much better – talk about a sight to behold!
Fun fact: The best place to take in the beauty of the Eiffel Tower is from l’Esplanadae du Trocadero!
Rome, Italy

This sounds cliche, but there are very few things that can compare to the beauty of a sunset in Rome. If you’re looking for a great picture-view, then head to the Gianicolo which offers a great view of the city, day or night. Of course, there’s also the magnificent view from St. Peter’s Basilica, but you might have to wait in line for several hours before getting that chance!
New York City, United States

On our last trip to New York, we went up to the top of the Empire State Building, the tallest building in the city. Here’s a little fact: the observation deck opened up in the early 1930s and millions of people have had the chance to take in the amazing view of New York’s skyline.
Fun fact: If you can’t get to the top of the Empire State Building, then you should go to the rooftop deck of the Alma in Brooklyn. You’ll have a great view of the lower Manhattan skyline!
Singapore

The largest observation wheel, the Singapore Flyer, can be found in Singapore and at 165 metres you can see quite a bit from the top! From here you’re not only getting an impressive city view, you’re also getting a multi-country view because visitors can see the entire country of Singapore and bits of Indonesia and Malaysia.
Machu Pichu, Peru

We can’t not talk about the view of Machu Picchu, the 15th century Inca site which is located almost 2.5 kilometres above sea level. Simply gorgeous and magnificent, no other words can sum up the view. It’s no city view, but it definitely deserves to be on this list!
Fun fact: Only the first 400 visitors to the site each day can visit Huyana Picchu, the one area where you can get the best view of the ruins and forest!
