Colour Stories: Our Favourite Red Decor

Summer’s coming to an end and the chill in the air means fall will be here soon! We’re already thinking about ways to change up our decor from light linens and summery pastels to something a little richer for autumn. A great colour to bridge both seasons is red – styled brightly, it pops and styled with heavier textures and darker hues, it’s decidedly cozy and inviting.

Below is a selection of our favourite red decor to take you from beach days to pumpkin spice lattes! You can find many of these at the stores featured in our King West design guide! But first, a little inspiration – you can click any of these photos to go to their source.

4 Reasons To Love Bayview and York Mills!

Summer 2015 has been great for us! We’re making tons of progress on our active sites, and we’re thrilled to be announcing a new project – Estates on Bayview! These ultra-modern townhomes on beautiful Bayview Avenue will feature contemporary architeture, terraces, and large, full backyards! We can’t wait to start unveiling these townhomes as they take shape – don’t forget to register for updates! – but first, we want to show you around this amazing area.

As you can see, our site is in the centre of a lot, with easy proximity to shopping, dining, amenities, transit and the 401! Here’s five reasons we can’t wait to dig in at Bayview and York Mills!

1. Proximity to schools

This area is full of amazing education options, both public and private. Your options will include the renewed Toronto French School, Crescent School, York Mills Collegiate Institute and tons more options in Ward 13. These schools are all rated far higher in quality than the citywide average, and they’ll be right in your backyard.

2. Ravine & Hiking Access

As you can see from the above map, our site backs onto one of Toronto’s notorious ravine systems. Green space is harder and harder to come by in Toronto, but these townhomes not only offer full grass lawns, but access to lots of space to explore! It even connects to the beautiful and historic Edwards Gardens.

3. Accessibility

Bayview & York Mills can feel like an enclave, but it’s perfectly positioned to access everything you’ll need in the city. A short walk to the subway and TTC ground service, 5 minutes from the 401, and close to Yonge or Lawrence – you’ll never feel isolated, but you’ll be insulated from the city’s busiest hubs.

4. Neighbourhood Amenities

Errands are a snap at Bayview and York Mills, with close access to groceries, pharmacies, pet groomers & vets, coffee shops and everything else you’ll need to keep your to-do list short and sweet. Plus, both Yorkdale and Bayview Village malls are close at hand for a quick stop-in or a Saturday with the kids.

July Construction Update: Exhibit

Summer’s in full swing, and with long, hot days has come tons of progress at Exhibit! Last time we updated you, we were on top of the world on the 17th floor

Things have only gone up from there! We’re currently on the 19th floor (cube 3) pouring the concrete floor slab.

We’re also working from the top up on all the fun details. We’ve installed windows up to the 8th floor, and balcony railings up to the 2nd floor.

We’ve also started the ground floor curtain walls. Curtain walls are the frames that hold the windows and siding into the facade of the building. Glazing will follow when that’s complete, and then the exterior will really start to take shape! While we’re at it, we’re also installing parking garage windows.

Plus, BlacktowerTV stopped by the site last weekend and sent us this update shot – from this angle, you can see the cube rotation starting to take shape.

That’s it for our July construction update! Have you been by the site? Tag us in your photos and follow along for the most up-to-date information about all our projects on Twitter!

Construction Update: E Condos

It’s been a month since we last updated you on E Condos, our project going up at Yonge and Eglinton – to see our last construction update, head this way.

Things are coming along in the E8 Tower! Tiebacks have been completed and excavation of E8 is down to the dewatering elevation, meaning the dewatering process will start this week! That means we’ve hit groundwater, which we’ll have to drain before construction can continue at E8.

In our last update, we mentioned that the E8 shoring was getting started. That’s since been completed, and the shoring at E15 is about 75% completed as of this week. That means tieback drilling – the process of reinforcing our build with steel rods – will commence when we’re done!

We can’t wait until this building gets above ground, but the foundational progress is some of the most important and we’re thrilled with the progress our amazing construction crew is making so far.
